Der Preis würdigt das Talent von kürzlich graduierten Architekten, Urbanisten und Landschaftsarchitekten und fördert ihre Interaktion mit den wichtigsten Akteuren des Sektors in Europa. Er bietet die Möglichkeit, Synergien und Komplementaritäten mit den Architekturbüros und Institutionen ihrer Wahl zu entwickeln.
YTAA wird von der Fundació Mies van der Rohe mit Unterstützung des Creative Europe Programms der Europäischen Union in Zusammenarbeit mit der European Association for Architectural Education (EAAE) und dem Architects' Council of Europe (ACE-CAE) organisiert; World-Architects als Gründungspartner; das Europäische Kulturzentrum als Partner in Venedig; das Sponsoring von Jung, Jansen und Regent; und die Unterstützung von USM.
