Camp Mare soll ein neues Viertel in der südkoreanischen Stadt Tongyeong werden, ein Ort, an dem Tradition und Innovation zusammenkommen, um die Entwicklung der verlassenen Region voranzutreiben. Auf dem ehemaligen Gelände der Shina-Werft werden vereinzelte Gebäude und mehrere industrielle Strukturen wiederverwendet, um an die Geschichte des Ortes zu erinnern und um der zukünftigen Transformation eine Identität zu verleihen. Mit Camp Mare soll ein Zentrum für Tourismus, Lehre und Kultur entstehen.
Das Gebiet grenzt im Norden an die Bucht und im Süden an den Berg Mireuk. Durch große Einschnitte in das Gelände werden das Meer und der Berg tief in das neue Quartier geholt. Dadurch wird beispielsweise die Wasserkante von ursprünglich 1.400 Meter auf 2.500 Meter vergrößert. Das Wasser kommt als rechteckige Buchten ins Land; der Berg kommt als dreidimensionaler Parkstreifen, der den Gipfel mit dem Wasser verbindet. Diese Bewegungen umfassen den Ort von allen Seiten und betonen die harmonische Lage des Projekts zwischen Berg und Meer.
Der Masterplan teilt das Projekt in fünf verschiedene Stadtteile auf. Jede Nachbarschaft hat ihren einzigartigen Charakter, der durch eine Mischung aus Nutzungen und Baugruppen erreicht wird. Diese fünf Viertel geben Camp Mare seine Identität als dynamisches, farbenfrohes und lebendiges neues Viertel in Tongyeong. Es richtet sich an eine breite Palette von Nutzern und wird zu einem begehrten und lebendigen Ziel für Einheimische und Besucher gleichermaßen.

The transformation of the former dockyard into a tourist attraction will help establish a globally recognized model for a comprehensive waterside town consisting of various attributes, including international core facilities, resort facilities, business resources, areas for seaside leisure activities, and high-end residential facilities.
