Wettbewerbsaufgabe
Ziel dieses Ideenwettbewerbs ist es, neue Entwürfe für eine moderne Gartenstadt zu entdecken, die den Bedürfnissen des 21. Jahrhunderts gerecht wird, und gleichzeitig den Pioniergeist zurückzugewinnen, der zur Entwicklung der ersten Gartenstadt der Welt in Letchworth führte.

Der Wettbewerb sucht nach Masterplanungskonzepten für die geplante Wohnbebauung eines 45 Hektar großen Areals nördlich von Letchworth, die den ersten Ausbau der Garden City seit einer Generation darstellen wird.

Der Designwettbewerb wird von RIBA Competitions im Auftrag der Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation (die Foundation) in Zusammenarbeit mit der Town and Country Planning Association, Homes England, Anglian/Affinity Water, Building Research Establishment und der University of Hertfordshire durchgeführt.

Competition assignment
This design ideas competition aims to discover new designs for a modern garden city to meet the needs of the 21st century, whilst recapturing the pioneering spirit that led to the development of the world’s first garden city at Letchworth.

The competition is seeking master planning concepts for the proposed residential development of a 45 Hectare site to the north of Letchworth, which will be the first expansion of the Garden City in a generation.
