Wettbewerbsaufgabe
Europan ist ein Aufruf zur Einreichung von Projekten mit Ideen auf städtischer, landschaftlicher und architektonischer Ebene, gefolgt von deren Umsetzung.
Den Teilnehmern wird eine Reihe von Standorten (innerstädtisch oder stadtnah) in europäischen Städten vorgeschlagen, zusammen mit einer Kurzbeschreibung und einer vollständigen Dokumentation. Sie wählen aus diesen Standorten den oder die Standorte aus, für die sie ihre Projekte einreichen möchten – wenn es mehr als einen Standort gibt, müssen diese in verschiedenen Ländern liegen (oder vor einer unterschiedlichen Jury, falls es eine gemeinsame Jury für ein assoziiertes Land gibt).
In jedem Land wählt eine spezielle Expertenjury die innovativsten Projekte pro Standort aus. Der Wissenschaftliche Ausschuss von Europan vergleicht und analysiert diese Projekte dann auf europäischer Ebene und regt die Debatte zwischen den Vertretern der Standorte und den Jurymitgliedern während des Städte- und Juryforums an. Die Jurys treffen sich dann ein zweites Mal, Land für Land, um die endgültige Entscheidung über die Gewinnerteams zu treffen.

Thema: Re-sourcing
Die Fragilität des Ökosystems der Erde und soziale Krisen führen dazu, dass alternative Praktiken zu schädlicher Rohstoffgewinnung, übermäßigem Konsum und Verschmutzung der Lebensräume ins Auge gefasst werden. Es müssen Projekte zur Regeneration von Natur und Kultur konzipiert und umgesetzt werden. Dabei geht es darum, Synergien zwischen biogeophysikalischen Daten und sozio-räumlicher Gerechtigkeit und Gesundheit zu schaffen. Drei Hauptrichtungen für die Gestaltung von Formen der Resilienz und der Ressourcenbeschaffung in bewohnten Lebensräumen ermöglichen es, andere Formen der Dynamik und Narrative rund um die Ökologie des Lebens und der Fürsorge zu reaktivieren.

Competition assignment
Europan is a call for projects of ideas at the urban, landscape and architectural scale, followed by implementations.
A series of sites (urban or peri-urban) in European cities, accompanied with a brief and a complete file, is proposed to competitors. They choose from these sites the one(s) on which they want to submit their projects – if there is more than one site, those have to be located in different countries (or different jury in case of a common jury for an associated country).
In each country a specific jury of experts preselects the most innovating projects per site. The Europan Scientific Committee then compares and analyses these projects on a European level, fuelling the debate between the sites’ representatives and the jury members during the Cities and Juries Forum. The juries then meet a second time, country by country, to make the final decision of the winning teams.

Theme: Re-sourcing
The fragility of the Earth‘s ecosystem and social crises lead to the imagination of alternative practices to harmful extraction of resources, overconsumption and pollution of living milieus. Regenerating projects embracing nature and culture are to be though and implemented. It is about weaving synergies between biogeophysical data with socio-spatial justice and health ones. Three main directions for designing forms of resilience and resourcing of inhabited milieus make possible to reactivate other forms of dynamics and narratives around the ecologies of living and caring.
