Wettbewerbsaufgabe
The Ljubljana Sports Park is the main athletic centre in Ljubljana. In addition to the outdoor sport surfaces – the main athletic stadium with grandstands, auxiliary athletic stadium and throwing centre, soccer fields and tennis courts – it also includes facilities for winter exercise.  It is primarily intended for athletics and soccer, but is used by other athletes for training. The sports park infrastructure, primarily the main athletic stadium with grandstands and the hall, is decrepit and requires a full renovation. The decrepit infrastructure no longer allows competitions or training of sufficient quality.

With the competition, we hope to find the best urban, architectural, and landscape-architectural solution for the renovation of the east part of the Ljubljana Sports Park. The main athletic stadium, equipped with grandstands and supporting facilities for 5,000 spectators, will be renovated, a new athletic hall with all supporting facilities and grandstands for 1,500 spectators will be constructed, the auxiliary athletic stadium and throwing centre will be renovated, an underground parking garage will be constructed, providing all required service and parking surfaces and accesses, including a grade-separated pedestrian connection over the Gorenjska railway corridor and comprehensive outdoor development of the area.

The goal of the renovation is to develop a modern athletic centre in the Ljubljana Sports Park, where competitions of the highest category can be held, ensuring the conditions for the continued development of athletics in Ljubljana
