Wettbewerbsaufgabe

Competition assignment
The 6th China International Comic & Animation Festival attracted 1.61 million person-time visit and 365 exhibitors from 47 countries and regions around the world. It was considered to be the world largest and the most attractive one of its kind. In 2009, Hangzhou produced 35 pieces of comic and animation work, constituting. Hangzhou is leading this industry with its fast growth. The White Horse Lake Creative Town under construction is located in the south plot in Hangzhou High-tech Development Zone (Binjiang), and it includes a Comic & Animation Museum, a Comic & Animation Plaza, a Comic & Animation Exhibition Center, a Comic & Animation Theme Park and Enterprise Brooder. This plot covers an area of 20 km2. In the future, the Comic & Animation Plaza will become the major site for China International Comic & Animation Festival. With the comple tion of Phase 1 of the Comic & Animation Plaza and the launch of Phase 1 of the Comic & Animation Exhibition Center, this place is not capable of meeting the needs for hosting an event like China International Comic & Animation Festival. Moreover, there is no national level Comic & Animation Museum in China. Today China is calling for a comic & animation museum. The Comic & Animation Museum will be the core building leading the overall growth of this plot. The museum will act as a showcase of the history of China’s comic & animation industry. Designers should take into account the Chinese elements, comic and animation thinking, local features of Hangzhou and the White Horse Lake.
