The Competition
Turkistan is one of the oldest cities in Central Asia. In 2017, Turkestan was elected as the cultural capital of the entire Turk world. In order to preserve the authenticity of the architecture of Turkistan, that was built during a thousand-year history of the city, the solutions proposed within the framework of the competition should be formed as a modern reading of medieval Turk, Islamic and Persian architectures.
Meaning that the works submitted by the competitor should be inspired by historical architecture, while carrying modern design and construction solutions. Contestants are not constrained by a strict and limited design framework with the exception of the condition described above.
Moreover, the highest appreciation will be earned by the works where the bidder will be able to develop not only the overall architecture of the object, but also offer and substantiate the ideas of filling and efficient use of the building area.
