Introduction
Obeikan MDF is a leading packaging company based in Valencia, Spain.
Since 2007, we’ve been producing innovative, high quality crates that have already become a favourite for premium fruits and vegetables worldwide. Thanks to our unique patented system, our crates don’t require any additional elements (such as staples, nails or glue) to be assembled. Only medium density fibreboard from sustainably cultivated forests and recycled paper of the best quality is used to produce our packages, which are therefore natural and biodegradable.
Being totally committed towards innovation, we are great believers in supporting and challenging young creative talents.With this competition, we want to celebrate our 10thanniversary inviting design students and challenging them to create ground-breaking designs for our unique MDF creations. The winner will receive a two-week internship, with paid flights and accommodation, in our headquarters in Valencia, Spain.
Competition Assignment
The Obeikan Talent Packaging Award is a competition that aims to select the creation that best meets the assignment. For particularly successful designs, Obeikan can approach the author for completion and realization of the design for production. The creation could have a commercial use as either packaging, point of sale display, home decoration, DIY, fashion, etc.
Conditions for Participation
This competition is international, one-round and open. Competitors need to be currently studying at a European University or Design School. Participants artwork will only be accepted once the registration email is received.
Schedule
Competition Deadline: 31st May 2018
Award ceremony: June 2018 in Valencia, Spain
Awards
The winner will receive a 2-week internship at our design team at Obeikan MDF in Valencia (Spain) with paid return flights and accommodation.
Submission Details
To present the candidacies will be necessary a single PDF document with the following information:
– Initial page with contact information: Name (s) and Surname of the participant (s), Course and Study Center – University, contact telephone number, contact email and title of the project.
– Informative dossier of the container design project.
– Prototype (Optional): Participants will be able to present physical prototypes at real size of the presented development, sending them by mail to the Obeikan Offices at C/ del Ciscar Nº 8, Canet de Berenguer, 46529 Valencia – Spain.
