Objective
The objective of the International Design Competition for the Master Planning of Hunnu City is to develop a sustainable urban planning concept that is based on the principles of sustainable development; integrates modern innovative and green technologies; harmonizes Mongolia’s historical heritage and cultural identity with global development trends; and envisions a human-centered, livable, and resilient urban environment.
Eligibility
The competition is open to both domestic and international professional organizations, teams, and individuals. Each team must consist of at least five members and should include key professionals such as urban planners, landscape architects, architects, and engineers. Additional specialists may also be included.

Registration deadline: August 03, 2025
Submission deadline: November 04, 2025
Evaluation period: November 05-15, 2025
Prizes
The total prize fund for the competition amounts to 1,400,000,000 MNT.
• First Prize (1) – 600,000,000 MNT (Six hundred million tugriks)
• Second Prize (1) – 400,000,000 MNT (Four hundred million tugriks)
• Third Prize (1) – 200,000,000 MNT (Two hundred million tugriks)
• Honorable Mentions (2) – 200,000,000 MNT total (Two hundred million tugriks)
