The organizer of the contest is Elon T17 OÜ in cooperation with Elon OÜ.
About the Contest
Elon T17 OÜ organizes in cooperation with Elon OÜ the design contest with a pre-selection (hereinafter the design contest or contest) to find the best planning, urban planning and architectural solution for the planned modern residential high-rise building at Tartu mnt 17 in Tallinn.
The goal is to build a multi-functional, modern high-rise building that improves the quality of the surrounding public space and complements the panorama of the city of Tallinn, where the public function, commercial spaces and elegant, capital-worthy living spaces would be interwoven. the functionality and quality of the urban space surrounding the building is equally important to create a human-scale public space. At the same time the organizer of the contest wishes to create a semi-public area in the building (e.g. cafe, art gallery, viewing platform, etc. room/area) that would allow you to enjoy the views of Tallinn. Special attention should be paid to the quality of street space.
The proposed solution should personalize the silhouette of Tallinn‘s high-rise buildings, create a high-quality environmentally sensitive living and working space and actively communicate with the surrounding urban space, making it more attractive and pleasant on a human level.
The design contestfor the high-rise building at Tartu maantee 17 has two stages. In the first round the architecture firms interested in the contestpresent a portfolio of works they have done so far. Based on the portfolios 4-6 participants will be selected who will have the opportunity to offer their own solution for the area. In the second stage the selected participants present their contest works.
The organizer of the contest has the right to organize the third stage of the contest, by asking the authors of the best solutions in the jury‘s opinion to refine their contestwork, by thereby supplementing the initial task if necessary and paying foradditional work volume.
The detailed planning procedure will continue proceeding from the contest solution. The winner of the contest will be involved in the development of the detailed planning solution as a consultant and as a designer in the architectural part of the building in the cases and at the terms of 3.11 and 3.12 of the contest terms.
Eligibiliy
All architecture firms have the right to participate, except for the companies registered in Russia and companies with an active tax debt, in the first, portfolio round. In the second round, the firms that were selected in the portfolio round have the right to participate in the contest.
The team participating in the design contest should include the person with the professional qualification of an architect, who has been awarded the professional qualification of an architect, authorized architect, level 7 or authorized architect-expert, level 8, or a foreign professional qualification corresponding to the aforementioned qualifications.
Schedule
I stage
Submission of portfolios: 13/11/2023
Selection of the contest participants: 27/11/2023
II stage
Deadline for submission of contest works: approx. 3 months from the end of the 1st stage (the exact date will be provided by the client after the end of the 1st stage together with the call to submit the contest work.
Assessment of the contest works: up to 4 weeks from the submission of the contest works.
Prizes
In addition to the participation fee, the winner of the contest will be paid €25,000 and the runner-up €15,000. The prizes are paid out on the basis of invoices, similar to participation fees.
