The competition
The challenges we are currently facing as a species are numerous including human rights violations, issues of race and gender, war and violence, displacement and immigration, and of course, the rising levels of CO2 in our atmosphere. Each year we run Fairy Tales Competition - the stakes get higher and higher. Although the promt has always been the same - to create a unique architectural fairy tale, combining text narrative with 5 images in the most spectacular way possible - each year, the entries are more and more engaged with current events and the state of our planet.

Some of the best entries we have received to the competition in previous years have been incredible stories of caution and warning. This year we are looking for solutions instead of warnings. We know the issues plaguing our planet, now we are looking to you to solve them. Leverage architecture and design to create new possibilities for the future.

Determine architecture‘s role in the fiction of the future.

Our seventh year of the competition returns with an exceptional jury and host of media partners. Once again we are looking to fiction to inspire and impact the current situation. Over the years, Fairy Tales submissions challenged us, inspired us, and awed us, taking real world issues through the lens of creativity. We can‘t wait to be challenged, inspired, and awed once more.
