Introduction
Architecture has always played a key role in exhibitions. Museums, exhibitions and expositions are not only a cultural offer but are defined by space, by an exhibition itinerary that is able to surprise and fascinate the visitor who is drawn inside an active and inspiring experience.
For an exhibition, architecture is as fundamental as works of art, collections and artefacts and their contents. The “Architecture for Exhibition” course has been created on these premises: its aim is to train professional designers who are able to materialize diverse artistic and museum experiences, enhancing the always-different story behind each cultural proposal. The students will acquire new skills in exhibition design and will move in a very prestigious environment – culture – which nowadays registers an increasing demand by the most critical and exclusive customers.
The students will focus on preservation practices, lighting techniques and perception psychology to deepen their knowledge on technical practices to adopt in exhibition design. The course will be made up of 84 hours of lessons, a 32-hour workshop and multiple lectures by well-renowned professional architects.

Workshop
PROJECT OF RECONFIGURABLE EXHIBITION SETTINGS FOR FONDAZIONE PRADA
The course, in collaboration with Prada Foundation, will give students the precious opportunity to work on a system of exhibitions designed specifically for the Foundation, and able to support the expositive and cultural programme of the same. Located in one of the most iconic cultural architecture of contemporary age – the old distillery re-designed by Rem Koolhaas for Prada, the workshop will guarantee to participants an intensive challenge on multiple levels. Firstly, the design of the installations worthy of the Foundation that hosted the works of Jeff Koons, Carsten Höller e Robert Gober. Secondly, the comparison with liquidity and flexibility that the space used for culture should increasingly support, in a refined and uncompromising logic of environmental eco – compatibility. Performance, exhibitions, concerts and installations: the project will not be oriented to give a representation of a specific installation, but a system of architectural elements imagined by students as real devices, totally reconfigurable and able to assume value and form always worthy of the cultural institution that belongs to the most famous luxury brand in the world.

PREREQUISITES
Students or graduates in Architecture/Design can apply to the course. The commission, based on the assessment of the application, may admit students with different qualifications.
APPLICATION
To apply, it is necessary to register online and submit a Curriculum Vitae, a Portfolio, and a Motivational Letter. Moreover, it is necessary to pay the administration fee (60€ + VAT). The best 35 candidates will be admitted to the course according to the rules.

The candidates are invited to consider the deadlines carefully. In case of possible modifications to the deadlines, they will be promptly notified.
